Climate action

Climate action is at the core of Holcim’s “Strategy 2025 – Accelerating Green Growth” to become the global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions. We take a rigorous, science-driven approach on this journey as the first in our industry with 2030 and 2050 net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for all scopes.

Circular economy

We only have one planet but are living like we have two. A global circular economy can enable us to fulfill people's needs while reducing the materials we extract and use—making human activity compatible with the safe limits of the planet. At Holcim, circularity is at the core of everything we do, as part of our net-zero journey, and we are applying the principles of “reduce, recycle, regenerate” across our business.

Nature and resources

Recognizing our industry’s heavy reliance on natural resources, Holcim is building a nature-positive future to protect the environment. Science-based targets guide us in adapting our operations to natural surroundings, with a focus on protecting biodiversity and water resources. Through rehabilitation and freshwater replenishment plans, we are mitigating our impacts and contributing positively within our sites and communities worldwide.

People and communities

At Holcim, we are building progress for people and the planet by upholding the highest human rights standards and spearheading a wide range of social initiatives. Our People Strategy aims to create shared value and uplift the wellbeing of communities worldwide.

Environmental, social and governance

As a business leader, we prioritize transparency in our sustainability reporting, policies and directives. We ranked first in our industry in Moody’s ESG ratings, and were one of only a handful of companies to receive the CDP’s prestigious double “A” ranking for Climate and Water.

Sustainable supply chain

We integrate sustainability into our procurement strategy and our relationships with our suppliers. We work with our suppliers to uphold the same sustainability standards as we do for our business.

Health, safety and environment

We place health, safety and the environment top of mind across our operations as we work to achieve our Ambition “0” strategy. Strict HSE policies guide our decision-making to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our employees, their families, and all our suppliers and stakeholders.
